Sitting in front of my notebook and starting this blog, I cannot believe I am going to type that my Putonghua is improving, but it does improve for the tiniest bit anyway after the continuous Putonghua workshops these two weeks. This is the strongest feeling I have. So far, it's good :)

Before these Putonghua workshops even started, I got so nervous about speaking Putonghua that I practically did not like them, as I mentioned before. Now that I have tried two, surprisingly I like them and even want to do them for two more weeks! This feeling is absolutely heightened because of the speech of the last Putonghua speaker on Friday.

On Friday's morning, this female speaker was supposed to just tell us about the national Putonghua test we are going to take. Out of the blue, she stood before the table and talked about how she helped an English-major student improve her Putonghua and win some contests. The way she pointed out how Putonghua would be an advantage to our careers, made the whole classroom fill with complete silence.

It was then we really grasped how significant it is to have good Putonghua. It was also when I became determined to really, really work hard on Putonghua from now on!!!
