Text Box in Mahara

With this, you can add a block of text to your Page. You can format the text with different font size, colour, paragraph layout, and so on.

▼ Select "General", Drag and drop the "Text box" to the body of your Page.

▼ A Text Box configure will pop-up! In my case, I have named this block as "Self Reflection" for Block Title. Then you can input or paste text to the text area, It just like most of the text editing software, you can format the text, insert image, insert text link and Table...etc

▼ If you have already created some text boxes in another page. You can re-use those text boxes by clicking Use content from another text box.

▼ Then, you can browse or search your text box. After you select one. Mahara will warn you "If you edit the text of this block, it will also be changed in 1 other block(s) where it appears. Make a copy". You can click "Make a copy" to avoid changes in the original text box which already inserted to another page OR You can click the Manage all text box content link- this will take you back to your personal Notes to make changes there instead of in the existing text box from this popup window here.

To insert a Text Link, Highlight the text and click the Insert/edit Link icon on top right corner of the menu. Insert the URL to the Link URL. Then set the Targetto "Open link in a new window" or "Open link in the same window". You can also add a Title to the Link. This title is for mouseover the link to show the title. Click "Insert" when finished. You will see the text change to Linked Text (Green).

With this, you can link highlighted text to any other Pages, you can even make linkages to a document uploaded in Mahara (right click on the document name uploaded in Files > choose copy shortcut OR copy link address).

▼ When you have finished editing the text. Click"Save". You'll see your Text Box similiar to this. You can click the button to edit the text anytime or click the button to remove the Text Box.
