YUEN YING CHAN

整個語文夏令營完結了確實令我感到鬆一口氣。這整個月以來每天都排滿了源源不絕的活動，實在令我感到吃不消。以往上課的時候我們一星期只有十八個小時的課，而這次夏令營一星期要求我們每天朝九晚五地上課，兩天的課已經等於我們平常一個星期的學習時間，使我感到勞累。

這次的語文夏令營若果目標是希望我們能從一個月中可以更好地學習普通話及英文，那麼這個目標是沒有達成的。首先，在學好普通話方面，老師給我們安排了話劇班以及朗誦班給我們，這些課程對我的普通話語言來說可說是沒有幫助。對我而言，念幾句詩以及台詞是不可能令我的普通話有所進步。至於學好英文方面，老師給我們安排的翻譯課，撰稿課以及傳播學課程的得益並非在語言方面，而是令我們知道有關不同行業的職業導向課程。雖然我在上這些課時亦有所得著，只是這些得著和語文的關係不怎麼密切。

老師在這次的夏令營中為我們舉辦了幾次外出活動。我知道能夠有機會到香港電台，萬豪酒店等地參觀是不容易的。所以夏令營有外出活動無疑是令我感到高興的。但是，我不明白的是為什麼幾乎每次的外出活動到最後都會變成一個演講。我理解中的外出活動是可以到處參觀，而不是坐下來聽一天的演講，尤其是香港電台的參觀，我們花了個多小時到達，卻用了只有十分鐘時間參觀，這未免太令人失望了。

縱然整個夏令營有點令我失望，但是邀請無伴奏樂隊演唱令我感到耳目一新，這個活動令我能夠放鬆心情，放下課業的壓力，開心地渡過兩個晚上。

總括而言，我認為這令的夏令營節目太過滿，可以刪減一些課節，令學生壓力不用太沉重。而我亦建議下年的夏令營可以較語文導向，並且不要辦太多演講，這應該會令夏令營比較精彩。

We had our Putonghua drama and chorus speaking show finally. I was a bit nervous in these two shows as i have to memorize the poem and lines in the play. Although most of the characters in our play forgot the dialogue, our performance still quite well( to my point of view). It is great that i can saw the performance of my classmates, some of them are so funny and I think drama really unearth some of my classmates’ potential.

We have been to RTHK to visit this week. In my opinion, it was quite boring as we can only sit and listened to what the Putonghua channel’s DJ talking about her job. We had a quick visit of RTHK. It was so rush and I don’t think a 15 minute tour can let us know more about RTHK.

I though copy writing lesson and journalism really taught us some knowledge. I love the talk by different speakers in my copy writing lessons. However, It just like a career talk. No doubt, those guest speakers gave us different career information and it can help me to build my career path, but I do think that the relationship between these talks and language is still not closed.

Overall, this week was also a busy week!

In this week, we spent most of the time to practice drama and Putonghua choral speaking. I like practicing drama and it is funny to see my friends or classmates act as different characters. There were some scene that made me laughed a lot such as we pretended we were carrying heavy stones and singing a song in front of the class( I am in the group of How The Foolish Old Man Moved Mountains). I don’t really like Putonghua choral speaking. I don’t really know how to pronounce words perfectly and put more emotion into it. Although our group tried to follow the instruction of Miss Zhuo, she still thought we didn’t put enough effort into it. I suddenly realize myself do not have any potential in Putonghua choral speaking and I cannot meet the expectation of Miss Zhuo.

For visit, I have been to British Council. To me , it actually quite boring. As the staffs in British Council only delivered a talk to us and only show the early childhood education centre (ECEC) to us, It made our trip dull. I remembered that day morning we have already had a talk about Putonghua test and i expect we can have a great trip to British Council without talk, but finally we still have to sit down and listened to one more talk. I hope that we can have something special when we went to a visit rather than having talk.

The first week of language summer camp has just passed. In this week, we have joined serval activities.

First, we have attend translation class. Actually, i am not interested in translation but undoubtedly the talk of the guest Ms Lee , who is a translator , let me learnt something useful.

Apart from the translation class, we also have putonghua choral speaking class and dramma class. Frankly, i don't like choral speaking and i think it is more effective to learn putonghua in a putonghua lesson rather than in the choral speaking class.On the other hand, the dramma class is a lot better. In the lesson, students can take part in the lesson by doing role plays in front of the class. It is quite funny.

I have been to two places this week, Kadoorie farm and JW Marriot Hotel . I was quite unhappy about the weather in the day we went to Kadorrie farm. It's so hot . Worse Still, there were so many insects! Although there are some fascinating animals like python, wild hog and bat ect, it cannot drive me  back to this place again. JW Marriot Hotel is grand but i can't see there is anything related to language studies.

This week is quite hard as i have to woke up at 6am and went back to home at about eight pm everyday because the activities lasted for a long time and i live so far away from school . It was a really tired week for me.
